Dr Karen Middleton-Gell, Processed Food Sector Specialist at Diversey Sealed Air who was appointed to the Board of the Society of Food Hygiene and Technology (SOFHT) has taken on the portfolio of Technical Director.
Karen’s role will be to support the other SOFHT Directors on technical advice in order to help share best practice across the entire food chain via the training, information and guidance available to the Society’s members. As part of this role, Karen will be responsible for the new Legislation Forums and the Technical helpline available to SOFHT members.
With more than 13 years’ experience in the food industry, Karen has worked as a Technical Projects Manager in the Food Hygiene Department at Campden BRI as well as for cleaning chemical manufacturers offering technical support to the food, pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. At Diversey Sealed Air, Karen is responsible for supporting the technical needs of the company’s processed foods customers as well as retailers to ensure that the highest level of hygiene is implemented on-site.
