With huge regret, The Society of Food Hygiene and Technology has made the difficult decision to cancel our popular keynote event which was due to be hosted at The Brewery, London in November 2020.
With lockdown now easing, and businesses slowly returning to a more normal way of working, it is still difficult to predict if we will be able to safely manage an event of this size this year. With the safety of members and their guests foremost in our minds, we hope you will understand our decision to cancel.
The Society of Food Hygiene and Technology Awards for 2020 will continue, and we are delighted to see entries flowing in. The deadline has been extended to Friday 30th October 2020 and we look forward to being able to announce the winners on Friday 11th December 2020. For more information on The SOFHT Awards, and how to enter please see here.
The SOFHT team have been providing excellent support to the industry over this difficult time, with very popular SOFHT FOCUS LIVE! Webinars every Wednesday. The feedback from those attending has been very positive and appreciative. We are committed to continuing to support the whole industry with these sessions.
Our Training Academy has continued to offer their programme of courses, now converted to online training and we are ready to announce soon a new series of Breakfast Clubs to be offered online too.
We looking forward to welcoming you to the SOFHT Summer Lecture on 17th June 2021 at The National Memorial Arboretum, Staffordshire and next year’s Annual Lunch on 18th November at the Brewery, London.
Finally, I would like to say how proud I am of the SOFHT team. Their unrivalled response to the Covid crisis has demonstrated how SOFHT, a mostly voluntary organisation run by busy food industry people, can make a remarkable impact that supports the whole industry. Thank you.
Fiona Kibby, SOFHT Chair
