The other finalist in this category was Single Source.
- Company of the Year (more than 100 employees) sponsored by Rokill Ltd went to Tate & Lyle for its innovations in healthier products including the development of ‘solution sets', low GI fruit sugar, light cane sugar and its popular sugar-based substitute Splenda. The finalists in this category were Premier Foods and Rentokil Pest Control.
- The SOFHT Award was awarded to Sir John Krebs, former chair of The Food Standards Agency for five years. His work involved increasing trust in public confidence in food safety and giving evidence to the public based on sound scientific evidence. His strategic plan 2001-2006 covered reducing food borne illness, promoting healthy eating, promoting informative labeling, promoting best practice within the food industry and improving enforcement of food law, all aspects which have now been embraced by the food industry.

Simon Houghton-Dodd, Chairman of SOFHT said of the event:
“The SOFHT Luncheon is the society's flagship event and is a rare opportunity for members of the food industry to meet up, some to entertain clients, many to network and others simply to recognise achievers in the food industry, from new product innovations through to leaders such as Dr Jon Bell and Sir John Krebs.
“The awards are increasing in popularity too and demonstrate how important it is to recognise best practice, one of the core aims of SOFHT. Congratulations to all those shortlisted and of course to the winners.”
