EU Negotiations & General Food Law – An FSA Account

1 Day Events, SOFHT Breakfast Club
23 Sep

An excellent opportunity to hear two representatives from the Food Standards Agency update us on up to-date information relation to Food Safety Law and EU Negotiations.

General Food Safety Law Update from the FSA

An overview of the principles underpinning EU general food law and general food safety and hygiene regulations in the UK. An opportunity to receive an update from the FSA on the EU Commission’s fitness check of the overarching food safety principles and to discuss the challenges in applying these in practice.

EU negotiations – an FSA account

The FSA represents the UK in EU negotiations on food safety and aims to support development of a framework of risk-based, proportionate and effective European food law. FSA negotiators will explain the processes behind the development of EU food hygiene legislation, how stakeholders can influence the discussions and provide an update on the latest developments.

This is the ideal forum for businesses to gain a greater understanding of what work the FSA is conducting and will provide opportunities for delegates to discuss in detail their requirements, concerns and also to raise questions on the subject matter.

Places are limited to 25 delegates to ensure that this remains an intimate and informative ½ day programme for all.
