The Food Information Regulations 2014 Statutory Instrument, puts in place the enforcement measures of the EU FIC (Food Information to Consumers) Regulations. The new Regulations also consolidate existing general food and nutrition labelling regulations in the UK. Neil Griffiths, CEO of SVA Ltd will provide a review of this new Statutory Instrument, including the impact so far to the industry, a review of any improvement notices issued, and any industry learnings. Subsequent to selling the business in 2005, he has worked as a consultant and in 2010 established SVA Ltd, which provides analytical and advisory services. Neil is also recognised as one of the leading UK experts on the policies, systems and procedures necessary to ensure major retailers can feel confident in the safety, quality and legal compliance of their brands. He has played a major role in the development of the standards, auditing and certification schemes necessary to demonstrate due diligence by the industry. He also has extensive experience of providing expert witness in criminal challenges.
