Hygiene Design within the Food Manufacturing Environment

1 Day Events, SOFHT Breakfast Club
07 Jun

A number of food poisoning outbreaks have been associated with the food processing environment and production equipment as well as issues with food spoilage and quality. In this Breakfast Club, the hygienic design of food processing facilities will be discussed focusing on the external and internal food safety hazards that are present surrounding and within food processing facilities and how these can be controlled by effective hygienic factory design. The focus will be on hygienic factory zoning and how such zones can be used as barriers to resist the challenge of food safety hazards. Much of the examples used to illustrate hygienic factory design are derived from the recently published EHEDG Guideline 44 on the Hygienic Design Principles for Food Factories. In addition, information will be presented to assist the food industry in the selection of cleaning equipment of appropriate hygienic design as well as suggestions on how hygienic design can be incorporated into the cleaning equipment of the future as both BRC v7 and ISO/TS 22002-1 state the requirement for cleaning equipment to be ‘hygienically designed’.

This is the ideal event for businesses to gain a greater understanding of the subject, and will provide opportunities for delegates to discuss in detail their requirements, concerns and also to raise questions on the subject matter.

Places are limited to 25 delegates to ensure that this remains an intimate and informative 1/2 day programme for all.
