Sentencing Guidelines Workshop & Exhibition

1 Day Events
13 Oct

Have you or one of your colleagues ever been questioned under PACE or been critically questioned by Enforcement Officers as a result of an error, or simple mistake?

Have you recently been to court? Do you know how the sentencing process really works?

M & B was fined £105,000 and ordered to pay over £9,000 in costs following a mouse infestation at one of its Birmingham pubs. You can find further details about the case here.

To help food businesses understand how the sentencing process is now managed we shall be leading a workshop in conjunction with SOFHT. Led by Greenwoods’ nationally regarded Regulatory team along with experts from 6 Pump Court, we will provide an interactive briefing using real examples and case studies.

Our experts will discuss the role of the Sentencing Council, typical sentences that could be imposed for health and safety, food safety and hygiene offences and the factors that make these more or less serious. Delegates will understand how to undertake their own calculation of the correct penalty by following Sentencing Council Guidelines.

Who should attend?

Directors and managers who want practical information on the sentencing process.

“It’s an opportunity to gain some of the experience without the pain of an actual summons – why miss that sort of experience?” Catherine Watkinson, SOFHT Events Director

Why wait until it’s happening for real?
