The SOFHT Lecture, Annual Luncheon & Awards 2010

The Society is pleased to announce its Annual Lecture and Luncheon will be held on Thursday 18 November 2010 at The Savoy, Strand, London WC2R 0EU (please see enclosed details).  The Lunch is kindly sponsored by Hygiene Group Ltd and Exova.

This prestigious event is renowned for being a professional, worthwhile and enjoyable day.  Ideal for inviting customers for both the food relevant lecture and social aspects, but also serves as a perfect forum for meeting industry colleagues and networking.

Over the years the Society's Lecture has gained a reputation for covering highly topical subjects and this year, we know, will be no exception.  Our high profile Speaker Richard Brasher, Commercial & Marketing Director of Tesco PLC has agreed to present the SOFHT Lecture.

The lecture will be followed by a reception with lunch at 1.00pm, the presentation of the SOFHT Awards and entertainment by Jason Byrne, a successful stand-up TV and radio comedian.  The day’s proceedings usually finish around 4.00pm.  We are particularly pleased to receive member company sponsorship for the SOFHT Awards from 3M Food Safety, Cert ID Europe Ltd, Highfield.co.uk, Musgrave Retailer Partners GB, Rokill, Tate & Lyle and Waitrose.

We are also pleased to announce that SOFHT has decided to have a Charity of the Year promoted on the day again, and have adopted ACORNS Children’s Hospice for the second consecutive year.  This is a charity for life-limited children who are not expected to reach adulthood and is based in the Midlands, close to the SOFHT office (please see attached details).  A raffle will be held during the day, with a range of substantial prizes available to the winners who will be drawn over lunch.
