SOFHT Mock Trial - Conference & Exhibition
29/09/2010 (1 days), Nike Lecture Theatre, University of Reading
Have you or one of your colleagues ever been questioned under PACE or being critically questioned by Enforcement Officers as a result of an error or a simple mistake?
Anyone who has undergone this experience will tell you that it is extremely stressful and time consuming. Unfortunately, this can sometimes lead to legal action against a company or individual and those involved can be summoned to court. By holding Mock Trials, SOFHT is providing all members with the invaluable and unique opportunity to witness at first-hand how the process works and how Barristers may question representatives from both sides. It is an opportunity to gain some of the experience without the pain of an actual summons – an opportunity not to be missed!
The conference is organised by SOFHT, at which an actual case will be used to provide delegates with a chance to watch, learn and at the end to give their own verdict on the outcome. The trial features legal professionals “acting” out the legal proceedings, giving the whole event an authentic and realistic feel.
A Q & A session at the end of the day allows all attendees to take part in discussions on any aspect of the day’s activities, and to take advantage of the experience and knowledge of the Barristers and Solicitors who play the main characters on the day.
