SOFHT Technical Support Centre
The SOFHT Technical Support Centre can be accessed by email at email@example.com and is available for use by Company Members and Individual Premium Members only.
This support centre will answer queries relating to Food Law, Environmental Health, Trading Standards and Food Technology.
The dedicated service operates Monday to Friday 0900 – 1700 (UK time and excluding Bank Holidays). Outside of these hours all enquiries will be dealt with the next working day.
Through the helpline, you have access to Environmental Health Officers, Trading Standards Officers and Technical Managers as appropriate. The SOFHT helpline is operated by NSF International.
The advice is based on EU legislation with specific interpretation for the UK. The company cannot take any liability for the interpretation of EU legislation in different individual countries.
You will need to provide your name, company and complete membership number when emailing the Support Centre. Your membership number is a letter plus 4 or 6 numbers (depending on your membership grade). Your membership number can be found on your membership certificate. If you cannot find your membership number or experience any difficulty, please contact the Society's office.
One enquiry per calendar month is allowed per eligible Member. Any use of the service not taken during the month cannot be held over to a future month. The advice will be up to a maximum of 30 minutes duration including any research or document search. Responses will be verbal or by email and some written responses will incur additional charges (see below).
If the enquiry results in advice requiring longer than the 'free time' of 30 minutes, members shall be charged for additional advice at a preferential rate of £70 per hour. Where members require or request additional time, NSF will agree with the member the cost for this service and the member will be responsible for any invoices pertaining to this work. You will be invoiced directly. The minimum invoice value is £55 plus vat.
