Brindisa

Position: Technical Assistant Manager

Brindisa specialises in the selection, sales and distribution of some of the best food from Spain. The Brindisa range encompasses the full spectrum of fine foods and ingredients from cured hams, cheeses to olive oils all of which are chosen for their exceptional quality. Over the last year Brindisa has won key awards in its field of speciality food and continues to wholesale and retail its exciting portfolio across Britain and beyond. With a reputation for running an extremely efficient operation with a solid customer and supplier base, this is an opportunity to be part of a successful Technical team.

The ideal candidate will have a first degree or equivalent in food science or food technology –supported by significant technical experience in the food industry. You must have a genuine passion for quality and be used to considerable customer and supplier communication in respect of both technical and commercially-related issues. You will have an understanding of food safety and quality management systems. Any added exposure to the retail and catering sector would be beneficial.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will be required but not limited to:

  • Managing product specifications – writing, reading and understanding and updating
  • Liasing with customers on enquiries about controls, questionnaires and specifications
  • Managing internal technical audits across the company
  • Carrying out relevant internal training to all levels of personnel
  • Dealing with local authority inspections/issues throughout the business
