Overview:
The Technical department based at the head office in Bradford is currently looking for a Food Safety Specialist to join the team.  The team plays a vital role in enabling us to develop products that are safe, legal, ethical and successful and the Food Safety Specialist is a key part of this.

Job Description:
As a Food Safety Specialist you will provide commercially sensitive, objective and technical expertise to assist and guide across the Morrison’s Group. You will be responsible for setting and upholding our food safety standards by promptly and effectively resolving food safety issues, as well as developing, implementing and monitoring food safety systems and procedures. You will also be accountable for managing emergent food product safety issues and, where appropriate, liaising with internal and external stakeholders at every level.

To be successful you will need a degree in Food Science, Food Technology or a closely related discipline and hold a recognised HACCP qualification to at least intermediate level. Practical experience in writing and implementing HACCP and food safety systems is essential for this role. Food safety auditing experience and knowledge or experience of ISO22000 certification requirements is also advantageous.

You will need an appreciation of the safety, legal compliance and quality aspects of a range of food products gained in a retail or similar generalist environment coupled with excellent communication, investigative and organising skills and a high degree of self-motivation, flexibility and enthusiasm.
