The Society of Food Hygiene and Technology (SOFHT) has re-launched its popular Level 2 food safety training course designed especially for companies who wish to train their own staff on-site.
The flexible Introduction to Food Safety training course, which can be adapted to suit the needs of an individual business, now has new look exams and a new allergen awareness section.
Staff can now be trained on site in a classroom format using a combination of powerpoints and DVDs which can be tailored according to the business requirements or training focus. The programme has been designed to be delivered in-house provided that that the trainer has undergone Level 4 food safety training and a Train the Trainer certificate. This means that businesses are able to empower a key employee with training up to x colleagues in their own work environment – which has been proven to have increased retention levels – rather than having to spend money and time off site.
In line with changes in industry legislation, SOFHT has also introduced allergen training to the programme in a DVD format. Using footage from a real food manufacturing environment, the DVD enables staff to understand allergen content, the impact of allergen cross contamination; correct segregation and colour coding.
SOFHT’s Introduction to Food Safety Training costs £175 member / £225 non-member plus VAT. This includes SOFHT Authorised Trainer Certificate which is valid for 5 years and costs £20 plus VAT to renew.
Included in the kit is:
- Hygiene Awareness DVD
